Sleep apnea is a very serious condition in which a person actually stops breathing while sleeping. They eventually gasp for breathe and start breathing again.

Normally we have no trouble breathing. Breathing hardly makes a nose. But for many people, this all changes at night. What was once a simple breathing process becomes an ear splitting ordeal. There are several potential reasons for this. Sometimes being stuffed up is to blame. Or the base of the tongue could be obstructing air flow.

The soft tissue in our throat and mouth can vibrate as we breath, much like the reed of a saxophone. This happens when our airway is constricted either because our throat closes or our tongue relaxes back into our throat. Generally, sleeping on the back makes it harder for our throat muscles to hold the airways open.

Now on to the stop snoring remedy.
