How To Reduce The Appearance Of Cellulite

By Michael DeFoe

If you have cellulite, the best thing you can do is exercise. This will absolutely help to get rid of cellulite especially in the thighs.

Your thighs can be a hard place on your body to tone and reduce. You can't spot reduce. In other words, you can lose fat in your thighs as part of losing weight all over your body, but you can't lose weight in one targeted place on your person. Aerobic exercise can help you lose weight all over.

If you do aerobic exercise for general weight loss, and combine this with toning exercises for the thighs, you can reduce the appearance of cellulite. It tightens the skin. Try such exercises as squats, lunges, and the like.

Squats are great for helping tone both the thighs and the buttocks. Start in a standing position, feet shoulder-width apart.

Then, lower your body slowly. Do this by bending your knees. Your thighs should be parallel to the floor. Hold for a few seconds, then slowly return to the starting position.

To add even more challenge, if you are an experienced exerciser, you can do this with weights in your hands. When you lower to the squatting position, raise the weights above the shoulder. When you do this, you tone both thighs and buttocks.

Lunges also will do great things for your thighs. When you do lunges, you tone and strengthen the thigh muscles and tighten skin. Most people can do lunges without difficulty, unless they have leg or knee problems.

Start with feet shoulder width apart, in a standing position. Now, step forward with one foot. Bend the forward knee. You're lowering that knee until it's about over the ankle, with the shin bone being a straight line between the two. Then return to the standing position and switch legs. You can make this much harder and more effective if you do it while walking.
