There are many CPAP alternatives out there that work just as good, if not better. CPAP machines are one of the most widely used treatments, but there are many other comfortable, less expensive and effective alternatives. I am going to discuss with you some of these alternative sleep apnea treatments.

The first alternative to the CPAP are sleep apnea mouthpieces. These special mouthpieces have become a popular option for many individuals. Most are comfortable and inexpensive in comparison to the CPAP or BiPAP.

Losing weight is an option that is successful for many people. Over 50% of individuals that have some sort of sleep apnea are overweight. losing weight has been proven to be a great sleep apnea remedy. This option not only helps sleep apnea, but also your overall health.

The Third alternative is special tongue, mouth and throat exercises for sleep apnea and snoring. These exercises are simple and if practiced consistently work for many people.

The fourth alternative is anti snore shirts or bumper belts. These shirts are designed to keep you sleeping on your side all night. This helps with the obstruction of the airway that causes sleep apnea and snoring. It simply keeps the tissues and tongue from falling into the throat by keeping you on your side.

A fifth CPAP alternative are sleep apnea and anti snore pillows. These specially designed pillows help keep you on your side during sleep. Most are inexpensive and work for many people.

The sixth alternative for you to take would be sleep apnea surgery. UPPP surgery is what the procedure is called. This surgery removes excess tissues from the mouth and throat. Removing excess tissue helps open up the airway and helps prevent blockage. UPPP surgery can be risky and results are mixed. Many people find success with this procedure, but many do not. There are many painful side effects that are associated with this option. This can also be an expensive procedure.

The seventh CPAP alternative is playing the Didgeridoo. What is the Didgeridoo? It is an ancient Australian instrument that has gained popularity as being an effect treatment for sleep apnea. There are simple ways to play it that are known to help treat sleep apnea for many people.

I shared with you some of the popular CPAP alternatives that are out there. Each one may work differently for people. The main key is to find one that is comfortable and best fits your needs.
