Certain Foods To Avoid If Your Bladder Is Overly Active

By Elenora Kurtz

Is your bladder overly active? Do you need to often stop what you're doing so that you can visit the bathroom? Have you tried to do other things to avoid these trips to the bathroom? Most individuals believe that it is our liquid consumption that contributes to the amount of time we spend relieving our bladders. This is normally why a lot of people almost dehydrate themselves in an effort to keep from having to visit the bathroom too often.

Would you believe us if we informed you that it is every bit as probable that the things you eat could also be causing you to make these frequent potty breaks? The truth of the matter is that those "pee breaks" are merely a way to rid your body of waste. You can make this waste from both fluid as well as solid foods. The waste you get rid of might be from stuff that are both liquid and solid--it doesn't matter what variety it is in when you eat or drink it.

Vitamin C is incredibly necessary for fighting off disease but it can also be a major factor in irritating your bladder. Citrus fruits are principally crafted from acid and that's why you should avoid consuming them both as solid fruits or as juice. Limes, oranges, tangerines, grapefruits and lemons are the major sources of this acid as are pineapples which, though they aren't actually citrus fruits, are still irritating to your system. To obtain your Vitamin C serving each day, eat fruits like apples, pears, bananas and berries.

Try to keep calm about this: eating too much chocolate can be an exascerbater of your bladder. Caffeine is in chocolate. Your bladder does not like it when you take in caffeine and will reward you for this ingestion with lots of trips to the bathroom. This is just as true with regard to caffeinated beverages. If you have been making a lot of visits to the restroom you should stay away from all forms of caffeine. Instead, you need to pick out decaf sodas in addition to coffees as well as dark chocolate.

Foods which have high concentrations of spiciness can also be greatly irritating to your bladder. This is going to be hard for people who are fans of spicy foods but if you want to stay out of the bathroom you need to avoid foods that contain high levels of spiciness like wasabi sauce, super spicy nachos, etc. If it can make your eyes and nose run you can bet it is likely to make other parts of your body run as well. The fix is straightforward; choose the same foods but just not as spicy so that you still get the taste without all of the bodily irritation.

We normally think that if it's fluid when it comes out it will need to have been liquid when it went in. This is generally not totally true. What comes out of our bodies is simply the aspects of what we have swallowed that our bodies cannot use and it releases that extra stuff (also called waste) in whatever manner is the most convenient for it.
