Kidney stones are caused by a lower volume of urine and a higher volume of stone forming particles in your kidneys or urinary tract. Other factors that contribute to the formation of kidney stones are an excess of chemicals like calcium and uric acid.

The list of the common causes of kidney stones includes severe dehydration - if you do not drink enough liquids you will increase your chances of developing stones inside your body. If you hold your urine in too long it can lead to the development of stones.

Another course of kidney stones is a UTI. Gout can lead to stone formation because of the increase of uric acid. Hypercalciuria is caused by very high levels of calcium inside your body which can lead to stone formation.

Inflammatory bowel disease or people who have undergone intestinal surgery are also at risk of developing stones inside their bodies. And a poor diet that includes high intake of salt, too much meat, and heavy consumption of sugary foods can lead to the development of kidney stones inside your body.
