Pearly Penile Papules! Well, the best thing to know is... They're not a STD Sexually Communicated Disease, STI Sexually Communicated Infection.

By Jack London

Pearly penile papules are tiny white or skin-coloured spots that when in large quantities appear as a ring around the edge of the head or glans of the johnson. More infrequently, similar papules may be found on the female vulva.

They are not to be mistaken for the following:

Angiokeratomas - bright red or purple spots that will look a bit like blood blisters.

Pimples or spots - due to blocked sebaceous glands. Zits and spots can form around the crotch just as simply as on the face, and may become sore and inflamed in an analogous way. Pearly penile papules are said to be blocked sebaceous glands.

Fordyce spots - These appear on the skin of the scrotum and penis in males and the vulva in females. They're yellowish, white skin colored bumps, not to be confused with pearly penile papules which affects men and vestibular papillomatosis which influences ladies. Skin is kept healthy by the sebaceous glands which release a substance called sebum.

Genital infections with human papilloma virus (HPV) are among some 30 million new diseases worldwide annually and the most typical sexually transmitted illness STD. Infection with HPV is normally through unguarded sexual contact, even by petting and kissing. About 30 differing types of this virus family cause warts (papilloma) on fingers, feet, nails, head and neck although over 80 kinds of HPV have been identified. Cancers of the mouth and oropharynx - the pinnacle of the throat - used to be principally diagnosed in older men who drink or smoke. But ever more, it is being seen in more youthful men due to oral sex with ladies infected by the HPV 16 and 18 strains. In the genital region and anus they are so-called genital warts. These are little mounds that may grow into cauliflower-like growths.

Because of the very serious results of genital HPV diseases laboratories have been working on the vaccination against HPV. High and low-risk HPV types - are presently in medical trials. The plan is a vaccination of all girls and probably boys before they reach adolescence.

Pearly penile papules can be mistaken for all the above Symptoms. If you're sexually active unsure about any new aberrant growths in the genital area then you should usually seek medical guidance.
