How to Build Muscles in Just Two Months

By Craig Dishman

Everyone knows that a good fitness routine needs to be combined with a healthy diet. What you may not know is that the specialized exercise routine you use to build up muscle mass calls for an equally-specialized diet. Here are a few dietary tips to consider for maximum muscle-growth results.

Get enough rest. Lack of sleep is tied to many health problems, and if you don't sleep properly your muscles will suffer. When you get enough sleep, you allow your body to repair itself and recover from your tough workouts so you can hit the gym tomorrow.

When it comes to protein intake, you may have seen some people go hog-wild with the stuff when they want to build up their muscles. Hundreds of grams of protein in shakes are sometimes coupled with lean meat by the pound. If you ensure that your body gets the fuel it needs from a well-rounded diet, though, your protein needs are not so extreme. Speaking in general, a gram of protein per pound of body mass is quite sufficient to foster excellent muscle growth.

Eat plenty of protein when you are on a muscle-building regimen. Be sure to eat whole proteins with every meal. A good rule to follow is to ingest one gram of protein for each pound of body weight. Good sources of low-fat protein include fish, low-fat milk and lean red meats.

Adapt your diet to your goals. You need to get rid of foods that are too rich in fat, sodium or oils. You should eat more proteins, carbs and healthy fats. Stay away from fast food, processed food and fried food and eat more fruits and vegetables. You should eat meat every day as well as eggs and whole wheat bread. This healthy diet will help you increase muscle and should give you the energy you need to work out every day. Replace pop, juices and coffee with water; drink at least eight glasses a day and always take a bottle of water with you when you work out.

If your schedule for exercise is no longer working, figure out why you are not getting your exercise done. Whether it's a change in schedule you cannot control such as work or school or a seasonal change, don't stick to a schedule that's not working but instead, immediately adjust your schedule.

If you dedicate yourself to training hard and eating right, you can gain muscle and build a great body. The information from this article will ensure that you gain muscle the right way. Good luck!
