Styling Tips For Men Who Want A Short Hairstyle

By Bernard Bowers

There are a variety of short hairstyles for men to choose from and they can keep it looking great between cuts by taking the right actions. Men are trying different styles as they pay more attention to how their hair looks. You are not required to keep your hair in the same style for your entire life, so feel free to try something new if you want. For men who want to keep their hair short, the following tips can be helpful.

Buzz cuts are styles that are only cut with clippers and have been popular for a long time. While you can leave enough hair to brush with a buzz cut, they are usually very short. An extremely short buzz cut can be maintained by shaving it down to only stubble or it can be allowed to grow out. Your head shape will determine how well such a short cut will look on you since keeping your hair super short will make your skull more noticeable. Look at some pictures to help you decide exactly how you want your hair cut or ask your stylist for advice.

Another popular short hairstyle for men is the Caesar cut. Not all men with this cut call it by that name but it's a short style similar to how Julius Caesar is depicted in statues. This is the style George Clooney favored in the 1990s so looking at pictures of him during this time will show you what this style looks like. The Caesar cut is a simple style because the hair is short and even all over the head. This style can be very complimentary to your face shape.

How you shampoo your hair greatly impacts how it looks and behaves. If you have dry or damaged hair, you may want to consider washing it every other day instead of daily. Since harsh chemicals can dry out your hair, it's best to use shampoos with only natural ingredients. Gently massage the shampoo into your hair but you don't want to leave it on too long. Be sure you're using the type of shampoo that is designed for your kind of hair, whether it's dry, oily, or normal. Using a conditioner after shampooing your hair can help you maintain your style.

Short hair is the easiest way to keep it, as you know if you already have your hair styled short. If you're used to longer hair, however, but are considering a shorter style, there's nothing to worry about because if you don't like it, you can always let it grow out. Many men prefer to maintain a shorter hairstyle once they find the right one.
