Remove Stress Forever

By Betty Jones

Most people struggle with stress at some time in their life. For some, it's work related, others have problems at university, and many have personal stress. We've all certainly been there.

It doesn't have to be that way, though. There are many ways to suck stress out of your life and learn to relax. You just have to stay disciplined and not give into things that can disrupt your well-being.

One way to relieve stress is not to over-schedule yourself. Learn to say no to things now and then. If you schedule 30 or 40 hours of events into a 24-hour day, you're asking for trouble. You have to weed out those things in life that are less important to you.

Also, you need to learn how to compartmentalize your life, leaving work at work and vice versa. Often you won't be able to make any changes and you will just fret needlessly. Wait until you can actually deal with the issue. Not everything can be sorted out right away.

Sleep is a major stress-eliminator. To get a good night's sleep, you need to establish a good sleeping habit. You should find ways to relax and calm yourself so that sleep will come easier. Soothing music, a good book or magazine, anything that will help you become at ease and fall asleep right away.

The reason that sleep is so important is that you are only going to be more stressed if you aren't sleeping. Then, that added stress will lead to more trouble sleeping. It's a vicious cycle that you need to break as soon as possible.

Lastly, to fight stress, you need to know your limitations. Remember that you can only do so much. Helping people is good. You just have to learn where to draw the line.

Remember, no one is immortal. Once you remember this, you will understand that you can step back and let some of those problems go.
