How Does Yeast Infection Manifests Itself In A Guy

By Hanna J. Weldon

Children can have yeast infections, women can have yeast infections and men can have them as well, it is a proven fact of life. Unfortunately there are many people who believe otherwise and they discard the dangerous symptoms as being something else entirely. Of course we all know that women are most prone to yeast infections, especially 'down there', but men are not spared either.

Candida is also called Candidiasis, and it's an ancient infection affecting men, women and children for many years now. For example there are some infections that are seemingly different, but in fact they are part of the same infection family: athlete's foot, oral thrush and various skin rashes. Some people even get Candida at their genital areas and that is a very unpleasant situation to be in.

What are the other causes aside from candida? Unlike oral thrush yeast infection symptom in man - often caused by HIV - A yeast infection that affects the genital region, known as a penile yeast infection, can be caused by different factors. Some of these factors may include the following: sexual transmission - If a man has unprotected sex with a woman, who has a vaginal yeast infection, candida can be transmitted from her to him through direct contact, just like a sexually transmitted disease. Although this isn't entirely a common occurrence, it can and does happen more frequently than one would think.

Antibiotics - It is really uncommon for a penile yeast infection symptom in man to develop from antibiotics, but it is not impossible. Antibiotics are considered candida friendly because they destroy good bacteria and bad bacteria, creating an imbalance in gut flora which can result in candida overgrowth and lead to infection. Diabetes - Men who have diabetes are at a greater risk of developing yeast infections due to the fact that they have elevated sugar levels in their urine.

So while now you know what can cause yeast infections, do you know what are its main symptoms? Here is how you can identify it quite fast: redness and itchiness around the penile and vaginal areas. Also itchiness and redness all over your body (for example if you have skin thrush). There is a strong white milkish discharge that also smells foul. It is definitely not your regular discharge that you are already familiar with. If you have oral thrush, then your tongue will have a lot of white area on top and you can even have bad breath.

If you notice any of these symptoms, along with dizziness, nausea, headaches and even a paler skin, don't take your time, instead rush to the doctor to have a thorough check-up.
