How to Avoid the Bodylastics Scam

By Robert Deangelo

Because people don't have the money to spend on a total fitness home gym, Blake Kassel invented a system similar to the high cost, popular flex machines that cost thousands of dollars. His invention has come under fire as being the Bodylastics scam, yet millions of these home gym style exercise equipment bundles have been sold since 2009 when it first hit the market. With former Dallas Cowboy wide receiver, Terrell Owens as the spokesperson for the new way to exercise, people are flocking to the website and calling to get their own ripped and shaped muscular body.

This is a system built on the use of resistance bands which means a person must use their own body weight in order to pull off the resistance. There is a door attachment so that several of the exercise can be done overhead without using ones own body as resistance. The bands are color coded and they vary in thickness, the thicker the band, the harder the resistance. An individual could workout with one band up to all seven bands clipped to the handles.

Beginning with the price, this system of resistance bands is by far the most economical for a home gym method for loosing inches and weight. It is priced under $50 and boasts over 140 exercises from the seven resistance bands and door hanger combination. The leading flex machine has two different styles, the fist one offers nearly 70 strength building exercises with a price tag of over $1590. The second machine in their group allows an individual to perform up to 90 different strength exercises with a price of $2500.

With this resistance method of exercising, there are additional ankle straps that a person could purchase to do the leg exercises. With the door attachment that comes with the bands, there is no need to lug out a large machine from a closet or under the bed. Many of the home gyms are big and bulky and will take up a considerable amount of space in someone's room but this little dynamo is portable. It will fold up and store in a drawer or hang in the closet for easy storage.

There is a comparable lifetime warranty on both the resistant band method of home exercise equipment and the larger flexing machines. Portable dumbbells are what some people call the resistance bands because with the color coded system a person could target what they wanted to work on. There are many different exercises for the abs, triceps, biceps, legs, shoulders and back.

With this method of resistance and strength training about the only thing a person does not get is the aerobic or cardiovascular type workout. This is important because the aerobic and cardio workouts are what help to raise a person's heart rate and help them loose the weight. Yes, loosing inches will help loose some weight, but not as much as a cardio or aerobic workout.

With a gym membership, there are machines that no total home workout gym offers people, things like a treadmill, stationary bike or an indoor track. These particular fast type apparatus create an atmosphere ideal for cardio or aerobic activity and help to increase the heart rate of the machines user. This can not be obtained with the resistant system of bands.

The bottom line with the Bodylastics scam is that it will work if an individual works it; however there is only so much the system can do. There is no cardiovascular or aerobic component to the workout simply using what is provided. One must add some type of cardio workout in addition to the resistance bands and all they do.
