Female Candidiasis - Symptoms And Treatments

By Matt Knox

Female Yeast Infections affect women of all ages. Candida ( Yeast ) Infection in ladies predominantly occurs when there is a change in the hormonal pH of the vagina such as pregnancy, menstruation and menopause and is made a contribution to Candida overgrowth. Certain factors may affect the overgrowth such as a course of antibiotics or a feeble immune system. The use of certain contraceptive tablets can also make a contribution to the overgrowth as would girls that have diabetes. It isn't a sexually spread disease while it can be transmissive when direct personal contact is made in this demeanour.

Female Yeast infection is pretty much treatable but it's important to note that many of the indicators of yeast infection are similar to bacterial vaginosis and in which it case it might require a different treatment. Female Yeast Infection Symptoms include : intense itching of the vagina, burning sensation when urinating, an odorless white thick discharge from the vagina ( a slight smell like yeast ), rosiness of the vulva and the vagina and discomfort during sexual intercourse. Regularly women with yeast infection report having headaches, fatigue, mood swings and joint aches.

If you'd like to do a Candida yeast infection home test to determine if you've got a candida infection, first thing in morning before you drink or eat anything, get a clear glass with water and spit into it a couple of times. Check the glass after fifteen to 20 mins, strings traveling down into the water and settling at the bottom looking "cloudy" would suggest you have a Candida ( yeast ) infection as against the spit clearing in the water.

If you have these symptoms, the most important thing is to get feeling better as quickly as attainable. The commonest female yeast infection treatments are anti-fungal creams and drugs. These can be prescribed by a doctor or you can avail of many OTC creams and pessaries in drugstores. It's important to note that a number of these will dump the good intestinal flora and micro-organisms and can have some side-effects which are hard on the body. Depending on the scale of the infection many ladies have reported success in treating the infection anywhere from three days up to fourteen days, in more serious cases it can take up to a month to get rid of it fully.

Avoid using scented soaps as these contain harsh chemicals which irritates the vagina, avoid wearing tight clothing and use only cotton underclothes.
