Hair loss is a universal phenomena and people usually, desperate to prevent it adopt several methods and also use substances, claimed to help hair growth. Generally, it is futile exercise involving avoidable extra expenses.

A wig cannot be used when walking outside in blistering conditions, and also if the person wants to have a swim. A hair transplant is only foe people with a lot of money and may make a pauper out of others.

The loss of hair may be a side effect of the many medicines is taking.

Consulting your physician is the most obvious thing to do, not only for preventing hair loss but also find out if some of the medicines could be dropped from being used. Indiscriminate use of hair conditioners, shampoos, etc; is real threat to hair. Contrary to what the advertisements say result may be loss of sheen of the hair.

Some laboratory tested and patented products are also in the market and they are found to be helpful in hair growth, in the case of some people. The success story is not universal. They also require prolonged use for permanent results.

Many people do not like to take medicines and also external application of creams sprays etc; they believe that less the medication better the results. They prefer to wear a well designed wig that will enable them to move about unnoticed.

Surgical transplants, apart from the huge costs, do not help in growing hair.
