Ryan Reynolds Deadpool Workout Tips for Getting A Toned Hollywood Body

By Frank Sherrill

With the release of X-Men Origins Wolverine, Marvel's latest X-Men film, expectations were high. Especially when it came to casting. Ryan Reynolds, who played Deadpool, and Hugh Jackman both rose to the physical challenge of building themselves up for the movie. And with the "Ryan Reynolds Workout Wolverine," Reynolds met that challenge with success.

For the most part, critics and fan reception was positive for Ryan Reynolds' portrayal of Deadpool, a sardonic but deadly warrior. Ryan Reynolds was no stranger to comic book movies, as he had already shown his impressive body in Blade Trinity several years beforehand. Many people were surprised to see Ryan's amazing body and muscular body, especially given his roots as a comedic actor. Besides, he should just be goofy, right?

Through will or wit, Ryan Reynolds has certainly been expanding his roles. While it remains to be seen whether he gets into the same great conditioning for his latest project... Green Lantern. Although, based on some of the early Hollywood buzz Reynolds will not disappoint anyone with his physical conditioning. He definitely takes his craft seriously.

It was rumored that he gained approximately 20 pounds of lean muscle mass for the movie blade Trinity. It may also be true that he was able to achieve nothing less than a 3% body fat. Bear in mind, that you must be below 8% body fat in order for your six pack abs to show. That's if you're a man, for a woman you need to be below 19% body fat. Both Jessica Biel and Reynolds use the services of celebrity personal trainer Buddy Strom.

This comes as no surprise since both Jessica and Ryan both followed their celebrity personal trainers advice to the letter.

For this role, Strom once again trained Ryan Reynolds. Celebrities all over have benefited from Strom's personal training, such as.... Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Scarlett Johansson, and Jessica Biel, among a bunch of other celebrities. For Iron Man 2, Strom was the one who trained Scarlett Johansson in order to play Black Widow. At the same time, the Ryan Reynolds Wolverine Workout is our focus.

Training Tips from the Ryan Reynolds Workout Men's Health

"Functional fitness" is the credo to which Strom adheres to, as he works on your core and stability. Every six days, Ryan Reynolds went through a workout regiment where he would train a different part of the body. Reynolds is usually a stick, which meant he had to work hard to put on that muscle.

That describes someone that has long, thin limbs and little fat, which probably made it hard for him to gain muscle mass. Ryan completed standard reps of six to eight per set, at the highest possible weight he could complete to compensate for the low number of reps. Reynolds ate, slept, and breathed lifting weights, and was required to train -and eat- up to six times each day in order to put on the necessary muscle mass.

the Ryan Reynolds diet program consisted of consuming no less than six meals per day. 40% of the calories came from protein, 20% from unsaturated fats and 40% from clean carbohydrates. Carbohydrates like Brown Rice, baked potatoes, yams, and whole-wheat pastas.

Flaxseed oil was most likely consumed to ensure Reynolds was getting the right type of body fats. Judging by the photos of Ryan Reynolds shirtless and the still shots of him as Deadpool in X-Men, the "Ryan Reynolds Wolverine Workout" appears to be quite effective!
