The Attraction Of Collecting Action Figures

By Morris Crouch

The action figures that are now seen as collectible items are very common in most households with the adults and children alike, going for them. Instead of them being seen as tools for teasing the brain, in the children's case, the adults too have found a use for them.

Even though these toys are to be found in the possession of children and adults alike, they have only one real problem. The difference is that one group views them as toys for playing, but the other treats them as collectibles.

There is a wide variation in prices and packaging, so those who can afford it will go for the type that are mint condition or pristine. Then there is the open box type which is also a good alternative.

Older guys like the encased type that come with a covering, but children have no time for that, they would rather have it with no covering.

Some people like to get two kinds of these gadgets so that one is kept away as a keepsake, but the other is used by the children to play with.

You would notice the notable big names like Ninja Turtles, Star Wars, Superman, G.I. Joe, and Spiderman as the most preferred. You would therefore expect them to be the most expensive of the whole lot. Their prices are between 100 to 200 dollars.

What makes the price to go up is the number of accessories that are found in each type which makes the toy to move automatically like a robot. New ones can cost between twenty to thirty dollars. People who want to use them as play companions or even as collector items do not mind spending the money.

There is also the tendency to use modern figurines that can also sell very well. The only thing to note is that the ones that are the subject of political figures tend to move very fast as long as the politician is still enjoying popularity, but will suddenly go down just as fast in case his star dims.
