Reasons To Go Power Walking

It is a sense of great pleasure that we can take when we stand to see the fact that our older generation are equally fit and healthy as compared to us in today's world. They do not need to work out but just remain active and continue on the fitness that they already have. Some are better built than today's football players.

For those of you who are middle aged and older and need some great exercise power walking is what you need. It is a proven technique that adds that extra firmness to your body and helps you tighten up. It also effectively reduces your blood pressure and you stand to gain many more benefits too.

Power walking has many varieties that you can adapt too. Choose one that matches your intensity and how far you can push your self and thus how much weight you loose depends entirely on what you are willing to take up.

To increase the strenuousness of your work out try going up hills. Other options that you can try to increase the intensity of your work out is going to a gym and using the treadmill based on your preference.

This increase in intensity is just what you need. While your joints get a break on elevated surfaces you also have to work harder as you go up thus giving you a perfect work out.

2Add these to your work out to make your body healthier and fitter than before.

A good healthy work out can be achieved by varying your speed. Choose a nice cruising speed initially and as you cross a barrier increase your speed in small amounts until you reach a top speed. For the next part of your walk get back to the original speed and keep following this regime for the rest of the course. It is also advised for flat road walking too.

Experiment with the length of your strides in stead of your speeds.
