How To Shed Off the Extra Pounds Without Dieting

By Efrain Righetti

Do you want to hear about a secret that may just help you burn extra body fat? One of the well kept secrets to slimming down is to simply eat foods in the right combinations that allow the body to fully digest the foods you consume. Knowing which foods can be eaten up at the same time is the essence of this weight loss strategy. By supporting your digestion in this manner, it will remain healthy and totally digest every meal. Let's take a look at the rules for right food combining.

There are four different groups of food, and each and every type demands different conditions for full breakdown of food. Carbohydrates, proteins, fruits, and non-starchy vegetables represent the 4 types. Fish, meat, dairy, soy, and nuts are the important protein foods. Most people believe that breads and baked goods are the only carb-rich foods, but pasta, food grains and starchy vegetables are also included here. Salad ingredients make up the non-starchy vegetable category, in addition to herbs and a few seeds.

Fruits are categorized into sweet-tasting, acidic, sub-acidic, and melons. Figs, prunes, bananas, and dried fruits contain sufficient sugar to be classed as sweet. Pineapples, lemons, oranges, and grapefruits are the most common fruits in the acidic family. Sub-acidic fruits include: apples, papaya, mango, plums, kiwi, peaches, and nearly all berries. Of course, it's easy to guess what to include under melons; watermelon, honeydew melon, muskmelon, and other varieties.

Each food groups is broken down by various chemicals in the digestive track. Whereas a basic condition is required to totally digest sugars, for instance, an acidic condition is required by proteins. Combining both in one meal produces a stress on the digestion. Stomach troubles may be the result of this bad habit. This is why lots of people suffer from acid reflux, for instance, or even irritable bowel syndrome.

Here is how you can avoid stomach issues and improve your health. At every meal, resolve if you will take protein or carbs, but not both. Non-starchy vegetables go well with both, so they can become a regular addition to almost all of your meals.

Eat fruits on their own, and, preferably on an empty stomach. To avoid tummy discomfort, eat only one type at every meal, or blend the different types of food as follows: sweet-tasting fruits with acid fruits, or sour-tasting fruits with sub-acid fruits. Don't eat other fruits with melons.

Also, consider that the various types of food demand different periods of time for complete digestion. It takes 2 hours to break down carbs, four to digest foods high in protein. This is essential so you don't consume a contradictory type of food shortly after your previous meal.

Start to make changes in your diet in a slow manner, as you get used to these new ways of consuming food. Remember the effort will be well worth it when you experience the numerous health benefits of proper food combining that include enhanced vitality and increased fat burning that could result to shedding off excess pounds.
