If You Love Life, Then Quit Smoking

By Nancy Peters

The first time a smoker really starts to care about his smoking habit is after 10 or 20 years since he started. If the first cigarette was smoked, for a period of two or three months the daily cigarette amount won't go over 5. But in time, smoking will become part of everyday activities, it will intensify from one month to the other until it becomes a habit.

Smoking is nothing more than a nasty habit. A habit means something that is done frequently, for a long time, until it becomes automatism. Stress is an actual factor of smoking continuity. For an investor, the related stress can be diminished using helpful materials like foreclosure profits readings.

There are other habits we have, but we can not compare them to smoking, because smoking is a real danger to our health. If you only browse through the available smoking materials over the Internet, you will still understand that someone who smokes for 20 years will live a lot less that a person of the same age who never smoked. In most cases, they will become ill in the last half of their lives with severe respiratory diseases, cardio-vascular diseases or will develop a high risk of lung cancer or pancreatic cancer. Unfortunately, once these diseases installed, quitting can not be done so easily.

It is much harder to quit smoking than to start smoking. According to the majority's opinion, the main reason is the dependency that installs itself rapidly, even in 6 months, especially if you start as a teenager. The nicotine contained by every cigarette we smoke is the active dependency agent. This dependency is characterized by a few symptoms: organism's tolerance to tobacco, the continuous desire of smoking, the repetitive quitting tries followed by failure and the necessity of obtaining the positive psychic effect. Nicotine has a discrete euphonious effect on our mind, and smokers become more stimulated, more happy and can even prove better concentration once they've finished a cigarette.

No matter how great the pleasure implied by a cigarette might be or the stimulant effect of smoking over intellectual activities, is it really worth risking your health? Since nicotine is a powerful addictive agent, like cocaine or heroine, nicotine dependency is very hard to beat. Nevertheless, we must stop smoking because it's not only nicotine we use, but also gases like those used in toxic chambers during the world war.
